                 Netherlands Fellowships Programme (NFP) 2011-12

The Netherlands’ Government has offered fellowship programme for the year 2011-12 under the technical assistance programme. The details are as under:

Study Programme:

  • PhD
  • Master
  • Short Courses (SC)

Eligibility Criteria:

The Eligibility Criteria is different in each course / degree programme. Applicants are required to meet both criterions mentioned here as well as at University’s / NFP website:

Ø  The candidate should be mid career and not above 50 years ad neither below 27 years of age.

Ø  Candidates are eligible for a fellowship only if they have been admitted to the Course of their choice and meet all the criteria. Being admitted to more than one course does not mean that the candidate can apply for more than one fellowship. Candidates will have to select one course before applying for a fellowship.

Ø  A letter of admission should be in the candidate’s possession well before the embassy’s deadline for submission of fellowship application. Therefore candidates are strongly advised to start the admission procedure as early as possible.

Ø  A candidate must not have received an NFP fellowship or any other fellowship in the three years prior to the start of the proposed programme (MA, SC or PhD).

Ø  The candidate is meeting the English Language proficiency requirement such as provision of IELTS or TOEFL score as mentioned in the NFP website.

Fields of Study:

The courses and programmes are available at the link mentioned above in a pdf format. In this pdf file, the main things which are notable are the deadlines:

Academic application deadlines: is the deadline for securing admission in respective university.

Fellowship application deadline: is the deadline for applying in NFP fellowship

 Each course / degree programme has its own application deadline for admission as well as for application in NFP fellowship.

Deadline:

The deadlines of each course for admission as well as for the application in NFP fellowship are different.

Documents Required to be attached with NFP Fellowship form:

Applicants are required to send two sets of following documents alongwith two sets of NFP fellowship application. From 1st November there will be a new online procedure for NFP application procedure for which visit www.nuffic.nl and www.netherlandsembassy.org.pk for updated information on all procedures:

Short Term:

1.       Admission letter from the host institution / university in Netherlands, stating that the applicant has been accepted.

2.       Certified copy of educational documents (degrees / transcripts / certificates) from IBCC, HEC (Matric & Inter from IBCC and Bachelors, Masters and above from HEC).

3.       Medical certificate

4.       Undertaking (one copy only).  Click here to Download

5.       FTC proforma (One copy only) Click here to download

6.       A letter from employer endorsing study plan and guaranteeing salary to continue to be paid during training period.

7.       A copy of valid passport or an official identity card (English translation)

8.       Two copies of Photographs.

Long Term:

1.       Admission letter from the host institution / university in Netherlands, stating that the applicant has been accepted.

2.       Certified copy of educational documents (degrees / transcripts / certificates) from IBCC, HEC (Matric & Inter from IBCC and Bachelors, Masters and above from HEC).

3.       The official result of an English Language test (TOEFL or IELTS) is compulsory for long term courses.

4.       A copy of birth certificate (duly certified from the Netherlands Embassy)

5.       Medical certificate

9.       A letter from employer endorsing study plan and guaranteeing salary to continue to be paid during training period.

10.   A copy of valid passport or an official identity card (English translation)

11.   Two copies of Photographs.

NOTE:   Kindly note that you are eligible to apply until and unless you do not have secured the Admission in any course or degree programmes of your choice in Netherlands’ University. Those, who do not have secured admission in any university of the Netherlands, please do not apply.

How to Apply:

1.       Download HEC Application Form, completely fill it with the help of Computer. Click here to Download HEC Application Form

2.       Attach above mentioned documents.

3.       Send the application package to the address mentioned below, 45 days before the actual deadline of each course / programme.
